Autor de obras como "Os Bichos", "A Criação do Mundo" ou "Os Novos Contos da Montanha", o médico Adolfo Correia da Rocha escolheu outras letras para o seu nome de escritor: Miguel Torga (1907-1995). Teve o seu berço na aldeia transmontana de São Martinho de Anta, ” a terra onde nasci e de onde verdadeiramente nunca saí”, como escreveu mais tarde. Filho de lavradores, deixou a casa dos pais aos 10 anos para trabalhar e ganhar uns tostões. Foi moço de recados numa casa do Porto, viajou para o Brasil onde passou a adolescência ao serviço do tio, numa fazenda. O tio recompensou-o, quis fazer dele doutor em Coimbra. E assim se fez médico, Adolfo Correia da Rocha, nome de baptismo. Aos 27 anos, quando deu início à carreira literária, escolheu para si outro nome: Miguel Torga. Defensor da liberdade e avesso a injustiças, este homem da terra “com raízes em rochas duras e rígidas”, apoiou Humberto Delgado e foi preso pela PIDE. Poeta e romancista, com mais de 50 obras publicadas em várias línguas, chegou a ser apontado para Nobel da Literatura. #TicEWeb
